The kids had a wonderful Halloween night over at Nonie’s house. They got to go trick-or-treating with their friend Zack. Just like their pictures, Aeden was a vampire and Owen was Frankenstein… althought people around the neighborhood referred to Owen as Franken-berry.
Yes, the candy is still popping up everywhere. Too much.

Happy Anniversary to the woman I love.
I know that I am a little partial! But, aren’t these the absolute cutest monsters you have ever seen?! They really get into the part. We had so much fun! What would we do without them?
You can go here to see the pictures from The Picture People.
[fa:p:id=2970109753,j=l,s=s,l=p]We took the boys over to The Picture People Thursday night to get some pics made in their halloween outfits. They had a blast and the photographers love them to death. They’ve had some wild times over there for sure. We got their Pirate Birthday pics done there just 2 months ago.
We also took the boys by (the toy store, sshhhh) to check out some new bikes. They seem to be outgrowing their current bikes way too fast. Add to that, that Owen’s bike doesn’t have brakes. Woops.
Aeden has been running a fever for the past week. He had a sore throat so Kristie took him to the doctor on Thursday but the strep test was negative. We haven’t heard from the lab yet…
But, on Saturday, we had to take him back in because he was still running a 103 degree temp. We had to get through a little finger prick to get to the root of the temperature issue. The doc said it looks like Mono. We didn’t do any more blood-work to confirm which virus in the Mono family it was, but in all likelyhood it’s the main one we all hear about. THE Mono.
We we’re going to take it easy and hope the strep test from the lab doesn’t come back positive for strep as well. Bad thing is, it’s a 8-12 week incubation period for the mono virus. Which means we have some time before we even know if Owen is infected.
Happy birthday little bro. Hope you have a good day and get lots of stock money to insure your future!
I mean.. um… iTunes gift certificates to buy some good music… yeah.
Love you bro,
Rodney
The boys had a couple of birthday parties to go to today. First, they stopped in at their friend Zack’s party at the Pontiac Skateland. This was their first time trying to roller skate and, to be very blunt… it didn’t go so well. Owen started to get the hang of it and Aeden made some progress. But, lo and behold, they had a playground section and that immediately took their interest. So we’ll have to try roller skating here at home before we head back out to Skateland.
[fa:p:id=2893065091,j=l,s=s,l=p] Next, the boys headed to Camden to see their cousins Jaxon and Zachary. The twins had a cowboy themed party so A and O took their cowboy hats and rifles the got from Ghosttown in the Sky. Most of the family was there and I managed to pull out the camera near the end of the party.
I put some new photos up from the party on the Photo page.
Happy birthday Zack, Zachary and Jaxon!!!
Aeden was a trooper this morning as he left the house to get his 4 year old shots. He has to get these shots before he can attend school. So he got up and left before Owen even woke up. Owen and I awaited the news on how he did as we watched Spongebob on the couch.
So how did he do? Perfect. Mom reports that while he did cry, it was very much and he pulled through like a champ. He had to get 4 shots all at once so we’re mighty proud of him. After he got the shots he was allowed to pick a toy out and he chose a back scratcher. So I’m not sure if I’m to expect a scratch or he is this week.. we’ll have to work out the details later.
For now, we’ll just be glad it’s over. Owen had some initial concern when he got up and Aeden was at the Doc. It went like this:
Owen: I’m 3.
Dad: Yep, you’re 3.
Owen: I’m 3 so I don’t have to have a shot. And Aeden’s 4 so he has to have one.
Dad: Um, yep… ok. Um…
Look, we have a whole year before we have to break that news. Let’s wait a while.
